Welcome to the Fairgrounds YMCA

Located at 585 Rand Drive, just off Coffeen Street in Watertown, the Fairgrounds YMCA carries forward a proud legacy as the region’s premier indoor sports destination.

The site’s history dates back to 1997, when community leaders launched the Ultimate Goal Family Indoor Sports Center, creating a covered soccer arena through a long-term partnership with the City of Watertown. As the Watertown Family YMCA expanded, opening its Carthage branch in 2004 and the Fairgrounds YMCA in 2006. The Y eventually became the primary operator of the indoor turf fields and sports complex originally envisioned by Ultimate Goal.

Today, the Fairgrounds YMCA serves as a regional recreation anchor, featuring two indoor artificial turf fields for year-round league and open play, a basketball court, racquetball courts, a dedicated gymnastics arena, and a full fitness center with free weights, Hammer strength circuits, and a cardio room.

The Fitness Center was recently renovated in fall 2025 with new flooring, fresh paint, and updated equipment enhancing the experience for members of all fitness levels.

This location remains a critical hub for youth sports programs like Kicks 4 Kids and continues to strengthen community through active play, healthy living, and connection for all ages.
